Final Fantasy Gaming is a BIG project, one that I would say will take many revisions to get it right. Right now, we're still in the development stage, so if anyone wishes to help out, you're welcome to. In fact, no rules have been written as of yet for the 3 systems we will be working on initially. These systems are Gurps 4th Edition, Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)/d20 3.5, and Hero System 5th Edition. There are only two requirements that I ask of any people wishing to sign on with this project. First, you must have a working knowledge of the game system you wish to write rules for, and be comfortable enough with it to create new rules to the system. Second, you must be familiar with the Final Fantasy series, at least to the extent that you understand the power levels that Final Fantasy entails. We will be drawing our information from all the main Final Fantasy Games: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XI, XII, Tactics, and Tactics Advance, including the extra content added in V Advance and VI Advance. If you think you're up to it, than join our club at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/finalfantasygaming/. A Yahoo ID is required to join, but since that's free, it's no big deal. All of our discussion takes place in there, so you may want to check back regularly. As I said, we're still in the development stage, so nothing is written into stone yet. Whatever you see on this page is subject to change at anytime. If you think you have a better idea, post it to the club, so we can all see it. What we will mainly be working on are the powers for the various classes, and possibly character templates for each class. Don't let this stop you from thinking up something completely different, though. We're willing to hear just about anything right now. With that said, I should point out that there are a few things that we don't wish to hear. While we are drawing our rules from all the Final Fantasy games listed above, we don't wish to hear such things like "Make a Materia System," Or something to that affect. While we may try to write rules for the various systems represented in the Final Fantasy games, our main goal right now is to write rules for the powers and abilities. If you have your own rules for one of the systems, please present it to us, we'd be happy to read it. But just don't expect us to work on such things ourselves right now. Also, while we plan on expanding to writing rules for othe game systems, please don't come to us saying "Make rules for White Wolf's Storyteller System," or something like that. Again, if you have your own rules that you wish to share, please feel free to do so, but we won't be expanding to other systems ourselves just yet. As for posting things to the club, simple netiquette applies. Please don't swear, as it is an all ages group. If you have a complaint with someone, tell that person privately, though email. Please don't start a flame war in the club. Also don't put anything inappropriate in the photos or links sections either. We don't want this club shut down because of an irritated parent now, do we? Anything inappropriate will be removed, and you will be warned, once. After that, you will be banned. I'd prefer to never have to do that, though. |
